Jamie Kuntz

Born and raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jamie loves that he gets to live in his hometown to this day. It is a family-friendly city that is a great place to raise children and is a big hockey town. Jamie and his wife have four adult children and three grandchildren (with a fourth on the way!). He is a big sports fan, especially of hockey—Bobby Orr was his childhood idol and to this day he loves to cheer on the Boston Bruins. When he is not working, Jamie can often be found participating in sports activities or supporting his grandchildren’s activities. When he has the opportunity to travel, his favorite golf destination is Phoenix, Arizona.

Jamie has spent his entire professional accounting career with Brady Martz. He joined the firm in 1985, straight out of college. These days, he serves as a shareholder, the firm’s construction industry coordinator, and a leader on the wealth management team. He specializes in working with clients in the construction industry—his expert service is attested to by the Bud Linfoot Award for service to the construction industry that he received from the Grand Forks Builders and Traders Association. Jamie also works with employee benefit plans and offers consulting services, such as succession planning and lifetime planning. Additionally, he focuses a significant amount of time on practice development.

A determined professional, Jamie’s colleagues appreciate him for his fairness and devotion to hard work. His goal is to lead by example each day. Though he initially studied computer science in college, Jamie quickly realized that it was not for him and made the decision to switch to accounting. Growing up in a large family—Jamie is one of eight children—taught him good lessons about the importance of hard work and perseverance, and the need to focus on more than materiality.
