Born and raised on a family farm in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Joseph currently lives in Grand Forks, North Dakota with his wife, Jennifer. They have three children, Ashley, Garrett, and Elly, as well as one grandchild, Sawyer. Joseph enjoys Grand Forks because the people who live there are very friendly. His hobbies include cheering on the Minnesota Twins, golfing, and bowling. Whenever he has the opportunity, Joseph likes to visit the family farm, which is currently run by his brother and nephew. Spending time with his family is very important to Joseph.

After graduating from college, Joseph joined Drees, Riskey & Vallager, Ltd. (DRV), where he worked for 27 years. In 2015, when Joseph was a shareholder, he became a member of the Brady Martz team via the firm’s merger with DRV. Today, he serves as a Brady Martz shareholder and sits on the firm’s board of directors. Joseph specializes in performing tax services with a focus on agriculture-related businesses and estate, gift, and trust taxation.

Over the years, Joseph has cultivated a reputation for being a hard worker and a respectful professional. The keys to his personal philosophy of service are integrity, quality work, and relationship building. Joseph was inspired to pursue a career in accounting by a great teacher in high school. He attributes his success in the field to working hard, always treating people with respect, and doing things the right way.
