Shareholder

Raised in Stanley, North Dakota, Tom currently lives in Minot. He and his wife, Karin, have been married for 29 years and have four children—Danielle, Jared, Jordan, and Joshua—and one grandchild. One of Tom’s favorite pastimes is cheering on his children and their teammates at football games and other athletic events. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time relaxing at the lake.

A career-long member of the Brady Martz team, Tom joined the firm in 1992, shortly after graduating from the University of North Dakota. He worked hard to rise to the rank of shareholder and continues to demonstrate dedication working in both accounting & auditing as well as tax. Additionally, he sits on the firm’s board of directors. Tom specializes in serving clients in the real estate industry, though he is also familiar with the financial, insurance, and agricultural spheres. He serves many closely held companies and their owners, providing partnership and s-corporation tax planning and strategy.

As a leader at Brady Martz, Tom sets a strong example with his determination, spirit of hard work, and continuous desire to learn. When it comes to client service, his chief goal is “to take care of people.” He likes understanding businesses and working with business owners to help them achieve success. It is not surprising that Tom’s favorite book is True Professionalism: The Courage to Care About Your People, Your Clients, and Your Career by David Maister. The book teaches valuable lessons on what it takes to be successful in a public accounting firm.
