Cheri Haarstick

Shareholder

Cheri was raised in Long Prairie, Minnesota and currently lives in Fargo, North Dakota. She met her husband, Jeff—also a CPA and CFO—while they were both attending Minnesota State University Moorhead. Cheri enjoys living in Fargo because the city offers a great community and a strong mutual support system. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, baking, and trying new restaurants. Cheri especially loves establishments that serve pasta—she has been known to attend more than one spaghetti feed in a single day! A devoted fan of her alma mater, Cheri enjoys cheering on the MSUM Dragons whenever she has the opportunity. She also likes traveling to her home state in order to visit the Mall of America and exploring small towns in Minnesota.

In 2007, Cheri established her professional accounting career by joining the team at Fiebiger, Swanson, West & Co., PLLP (FSW). By 2019, when FSW merged into Brady Martz, Cheri had risen to the rank of partner. She transitioned onto the Brady Martz team and currently serves as a shareholder. In this role, Cheri works with both local and regional businesses in a variety of industries, with a slight focus on the health care, real estate, and manufacturing sectors. She specializes in performing tax and business planning, tax preparation, succession planning, and IRS and state tax representation. In 2016, Cheri was recognized for her contributions to the local business community when the United Way named her to their “35 Under 35” list.

As Cheri sees it, her primary role is simple: helping her clients and her team succeed. She is focused and driven in her pursuit of this mission. Her favorite quote is a good summary of her perspective when it comes to work: “Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.” Cheri was inspired to pursue a career in accounting because the field “just clicked” for her. She credits her success to the great mentors and coaches she has had over the years, including the support of the leaders and partners at both FSW and Brady Martz.
