Heather Burchill

Senior Manager

Raised in the small town of Buffalo, North Dakota, Heather is the oldest of four girls. Her father owns a trucking company and was on the road for much of her childhood. “I learned about sacrifice and hard work from him,” explains Heather. “I learned how important it is to finish what you have committed to doing.” These days, Heather lives in Grand Forks with her husband of 12 years, Justin. Brady Martz holds a special place in both of their hearts because it is where they met as coworkers. Heather and Justin have two daughters, Emma and Lily, and a Golden Doodle. In her free time, Heather pursues a variety of hobbies, including reading, painting, and playing the piano.

Heather has spent the entirety of her professional accounting career with Brady Martz. She joined the firm in 2000 as an associate and has worked hard to rise through the ranks. She served as a senior associate and then as a manager before stepping into her current role, senior manager. In this capacity, she is responsible for performing business tax, individual tax, non-profit tax, 1031 exchanges, and multi-state taxation engagements. She is the go-to person in the office for questions regarding 1031 exchanges. Additionally, Heather is the Grand Forks office tax coordinator and a member of the firm’s Tax Committee.

A loyal and reliable professional, when asked to describe her personal philosophy of service, Heather explained that it is “to be worthy of our clients’ continued trust as we help them navigate through the many phases in their lives.” She attributes the success she has achieved in her accounting career to two key factors: hard work and flexibility.
